Inaugurated in 1907, its function was to transport the curists from the large hotels in upper Evian to the spring, the thermal refreshment bar and the thermal establishment (today's Palais Lumière).
This lakeside garden is located at the western entrance to Evian. A wetland research and information centre, it presents - via an exhibition and a discovery trail through the park - the various watery ecosystems: ponds, mountain streams, marshes...
Accessible on the ground floor of the Buvette Cachat, from the Rue Nationale, a sales information area that allows you to understand a little of the great history of the Evian natural mineral water and to leave with a souvenir bearing the image of the brand.
The Buvette Cachat, a true jewel of Art Nouveau, has completed its first phase of renovation. The covered enclosure has thus recovered the splendour of its woodwork and stained glass windows as in 1905. Free access is organized during the summer.
Accompanied by a heritage guide, discover the history of Evian from the Middle Ages to the Belle Epoque. Small anecdotes and hidden treasures of the town will be revealed to you.
